REFRESH partner Gees Recycling is taking part in the EU Composites Advantage Unveiled conference on 22 May 2025.

The event is organised by the RECREATE project and takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Attendees can also join online.

The conference will focus on advances in sustainable composite materials. It will explore trends in the EU composites market and present industrial innovations for reuse and manufacturing of composite materials. The sessions will highlight real-world applications of composites related technologies across industries such as automotive, wind energy, marine, aerospace, transport, construction, and sports.

Giorgio Betteto of Gees Recycling will take part in Pitching session 2: Composites and renewables, which addresses the topic Circularity by design and life extension of wind farms. The presentation will discuss the Gees approach to recycling blades.

In REFRESH, Gees Recycling is optimising and upscaling its mechanical process for recycling blades.

The conference organised by RECREATE is a part of CHALLENGE CIRCULARITY stream curated by the Circular Business Academy.

RECREATE is an EU-funded project developing innovative technologies aimed at exploiting the potential of end-of-life complex composites waste as a feedstock for profitable reuse of parts and materials in the manufacturing industry.

EU-funded projects EOLIAN, which is developing a new generation of sustainable wind turbine blades based on vitrimer composites, and EuReComp, focused on recycling and reuse of composites from various industries, are also taking part.
